On January 31, 2020, Rob Smith, the new CEO of Konecranes, Carolin Paulus, recently announced Executive Vice President of Konecranes, and Franz Schulte, Senior VP, Knowledge Centers & Core of Lifting, visited the Demag Research Factory. Rob Smith had already gained an impression of various locations worldwide over the past few months and now also visited the factory in Wetter, Germany, as well as the Research Factory which has been installed there. The team gave an overview of the projects contents and visions and presented the assembly process developed specifically for the German project demonstrator with new assistance functions implemented to date. Rob Smith was visibly impressed by the project and the work the International Consortium is doing and used his numerous contacts in the industry to connect possibly interested business partners with OPTIMUM. We were extremely happy about this high-level visit and Rob Smiths very positive feedback.
