This year our OPTIMUM consortium has really let it rumble virtually. Officially parties are strictly forbidden, but this does not apply to virtual online parties. Therefore, the OPTIMUM consortium has decided to organise a summer party on August 13th, 2020. In order to enable our Korean friends to participate in this event, although there is a time difference, we already started at 4 pm and finally celebrated until 9:30 pm. During this period, various partners from different countries joined in and talked, laughed and finally let the evening end together.
As you would expect on a beautiful summer evening, our partners from the University of Rostock even joined in from the beach in Warnemünde.
Franz Schulte (Senior Vice President, Product Platforms and Development) also took part in this event and shared his impressions as follows: 'I could join the summer party of the OPTIMUM team. It was a new and special experience for me. Covid has changed a lot and it was the first time I joined a summer party in this way. And for sure it was a nice and very good event. I could see an open discussion / information sharing / telling stories and sharing the life environment. I hope you enjoyed this event in similar way as myself. Thanks to all of you for contribution to the project and I am sure you will continue in the same way! Take care of yourself and your family's health and I am looking forward to meeting you face to face as soon as possible!
This is exactly what we are also hoping for, because as nice and helpful it is in these days to virtually get in touch at any time, this does not replace the personal interaction.
We would be so happy if the next Summer Party could take place again 'analogue' as a project finishing party with the partners and we would be able to look back calmly on this crazy and teachingful year 2020 already in 2021.
