September 2019 – International Consortium presents OPTIMUM and several mobile demonstrators at Demag in Wetter to a big public

As part of its 200-year anniversary celebrations, Demag hosted a Customer Day (5 September 2019) and an Open Day (7 September 2019). These two events were utilized to present OPTIMUM, the German Project Demonstrator (Demag Research Factory) and individual OPTIMUM functionalities to a broad public.

The partners IFAK, TARAKOS, URO, COMNOVO, ERMETAL, ERSTE, ETRI and HANDYSOFT (Germany, Turkey and Republic of Korea) supported the dissemination with mobile demonstrators in Wetter and Demag demonstrated a chain hoist demo-assembly with the first implemented OPTIMUM functionality 'Go-To'. NXP had also attended with a mobile demonstrator, but unfortunately had to cancel the dissemination because of health reasons.

On Customer Day (5 September 2019), approx. 250 Demag customers - from all over the world - received information about OPTIMUM and guided tours through the ' Marketplace of Innovation', which was composed of Partner demos and the Demag demo assembly line.

On the Open House (7 September 2019), about 1,000 guests - also with very positive feedback - found their way to OPTIMUM. A total of more than 6,000 guests streamed through the open gates to the factory premises, which offered a variety of exhibitions, various demonstrations and activities. The weather also played along very well until the official end of the day.

In addition to the activities for OPTIMUM, we again had very nice social programs. Mrs. Paulus, Managing Director Demag, invited the Consortium to the Gala Dinner together with the International Customers. It was a really special and enjoyable evening with a special consortium!

On September 6th we also had a very nice time in Cologne. Since in Germany Church and good brewing tradition are closely related, we held it the same way. After a guided tour in the Cologne Cathedral (UNESCO World Heritage), the Consortium concluded the afternoon and evening with a cheerful brewery tour and a good traditional dinner.

Since we, as most of the project partners, were all together for a few days in sequence, it also served as a fruitful platform to flourish some new and interesting ideas that all of the partners can benefit from. We are honored to be part of such a well thought and historical event.”
