The year 2020 was certainly not an easy year for our OPTIMUM project, because many of our important face-to-face workshops could not take place as planned due to the global pandemic. Nevertheless, at the end of the year, the last face-to-face workshop of the year took place on 16 December 2020 at the Demag Research Factory. The workshop took place in strict compliance with all Corona safety measures and with the participation of only one consortium partner, namely COMNOVO.
Within this workshop, COMNOVO first tested the function of the AGV-Localisation-Tag, which has a CAN-Interface and requires a 12V DC supply voltage. In addition, the routine for CAN-Bus-Initialisation was improved, the localisation tag was reflashed and then reattached centrally between the two driven wheels of the AGV.
Afterwards, DEMAG used the CAN-Analyser to verify that the position data was visible on the bus. This test was successful. We thank our project partner for the very good and successful cooperation!
After the monitoring of the encoder data of the frequency converter as well as the data of the BlueBotics-Control have been clarified, further tests will be carried out with the participation of the partners from COMNOVO and the UNIVERSITY OF ROSTOCK.
Hopefully, in the new year 2021, the pandemic can be contained, and further face-to-face workshops can be held to implement further innovative functionalities from OPTIMUM to successfully conclude the project in the middle of the year.
In this spirit, we wish you a happy and healthy new year 2021!
